My name is Louise O’Riordan and I live in Dunstable Town centre.
I have created this site for you to get to know me better whilst I stand as a candidate in the Dunstable Town and Central Bedfordshire Council Elections that will be happening on 4th May 2023.
I also want to get to know you better and hear about the concerns you have in the Dunstable East ward, previously known as Icknield.

I have used my voice in Dunstable since 2016, holding developers and the council to account regarding rogue practices that have affected me and my neighbours. I came to learn that these same issues are affecting thousands nationwide and therefore I campaign for all affected, taking the issues to Parliament and exposing them in the media.
I continue to represent my family and neighbours of the 109 dwellings on my estate to enjoy their homes. I have become a Director of the Management Company that oversees the running of the housing estate, removing the rogue developer and its agents as well as reducing costs.
I have fought for fairness and the rights of people across the country for many years and I now want to put that experience to good use by becoming a councillor to be the voice of the wider community. This will enable me to further scrutinise decisions made by Central Bedfordshire and Dunstable Town Council to the benefit of all that live in Dunstable.
I want to be the voice of myself and others as I know what it is like to be overlooked, unheard and unseen. I understand the frustrations that local people have experienced in Dunstable due to the poor decision making of the current politically biased councillors.

I’m standing as a candidate in Dunstable East in the upcoming Dunstable Town and Central Bedfordshire Council Elections on Thursday 4th May 2023.
Living in Dunstable Town centre, I’m all too familiar with the problems we face;
• Poor Planning Decisions
• Traffic and Road Layout Problems
• Unaffordable Housing
• Lack of Parking & Transport Links
• New Developments & Overcrowding
• Insufficient Infrastructure (Schools, GP and Doctors Surgeries)
• HGVs Driving through Town
• Loss of Green & Open Spaces
• Lack of Facilities for Young Adults & Children
I’m also frustrated by the decisions that are made and planning applications that are pushed through against the wishes of people that live here - especially when most of the decision makers don’t live where the changes are happening.
They don’t suffer. We do.
So what can we do?
We can vote for change on 4th May 2023.
The only way anything will change is if we change who makes the decisions.
For this reason, I am running as an Independent Candidate for Councillor on the ward I live in. I want to help myself and my neighbours to live in a better version of Dunstable. This town has some fantastic assets and events, let’s make it even better.
I promise to be honest, to take a fair and informed view, to represent your voice and to question everything.
I don’t know everything but I will find answers and I will help. If it affects you, it affects me and my neighbours.
